PROFILE

Martyna Galazka-Carney is a researcher who recently received a doctoral degree in Developmental Psychology from the Department of Psychology at Uppsala University. Her Ph.D. thesis focused on perception and attention to social information in infants. Specifically, on the link between perceiving low-level visual cues and higher-level cognition such as during the perception of motion in typically and atypically developing infants. Prior to her doctoral work, Martyna had obtained a Master’s degree in Developmental Science from Boston University and worked at the Kennedy Krieger Institute Center for Autism and Related Disorders in Baltimore, MD.
Currently, Martyna holds the position of researcher at the Institute of Neuroscience and Physiology at GNC and Sahlgrenska Academy. At GNC, Martyna is involved in number of projects examining perception of faces and other social information in children at risk of developmental dyslexia and autism.
