Profil

Brian Neville var den förste professorn i barnneurologi i Storbritannien vid University College och Great Ormond Street Hospital. Han utvecklade också ett viktigt samarbete med barnepilepsienheten vid Lingfield, numera känd som Young Epilepsy. Han har skrivit drygt 250 fackgranskade artiklar och ett flertal bokkapitel. Hans forskningsfält på senare år har handlat om de olika funktionsnedsättningar som förekommer vid epilepsi, både den bakomliggande mekanismen och vilka effekter dessa funktionsnedsättningar har på hjärnans utveckling och barnets funktion i skolan. Epidemiologiska studier har bedrivits både i Afrika och Storbritannien på status epilepticus och epilepsi i allmänhet. Feberkramper utgör en fortsatt viktig del av hans forskning.
