Profile

Carina Gillberg is a Chief Physician at the Child Neuropsychiatric Clinic (CNC) and Associate Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Gothenburg and, in addition, holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology. Carina has been active in clinical work and research for almost 40 years. Since 1994 she is working at the Child Neuropsychiatric Clinic (CNC) as Chief Physician for a team focusing especially on ADHD/DAMP, an area which she also addressed in her doctoral thesis in 1987. Aside from research on ADHD/DAMP she has also carried out epidemiological studies on anorexia nervosa and autism spectrum disorders. Carina has authored or co-authored over 70 peer-reviewed scientific articles on ADHD, autism, and anorexia nervosa. She supervises research students at GNC and constitutes one of the cornerstones in the important research that requires thorough clinical psychiatric/medical examination of each individual included in the clinical or epidemiological project. She combines extensive clinical experience with research, contributing to a greater depth in both research and clinical knowledge.
