There is a strong commitment in the community to neurodevelopmental and neuropsychiatric conditions, i.e. the fields of research that engage the GNC. Patient associations, involving individuals with a disability or their relatives, are examples of organisations that play an important role in advocating for and addressing the needs of these individuals. Societies for researchers, who in turn organise conferences, are also important to promote development in the research areas significant for the GNC. Knowledge centres involving ADHD, autism, rare disorders and epilepsy help to educate and disseminate the current state of knowledge in their fields. Charities play an important role in supporting research and improving the living situation for individuals with neurodevelopmental and neuropsychiatric conditions. The types of organisations mentioned all make crucial contributions to supporting research, raising awareness, and monitoring the interests of individuals with disabilities. On this page you can find links to some of these organisations and projects. The links represent associations in Sweden, the U.S., England, Scotland, France and Norway.
